Closing the door On the year which passed. Starting a new chapter. Turning over a new leaf. A new year, still unwritten Will be unfolding Day by single day. What will you take with you From the previous chapters? Have you stepped into this new chapters With grieves and regrets From the chapters Which have passed. Or have you Left those behind And entered With renewed believes and hopes? I have been able To leave my sorrows In the year which has passed. I have stepped into this new chapter With renewed hopes and dreams. What about you? - weerwolfjuhn
Watchword for the Week - The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. Luke 1:49
2 Samuel 7:1-11,16; Luke 1:47-55 Romans 16:25-27; Luke 1:26-38
Do not go after other gods to serve and worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands. Jeremiah 25:6
Even though there may be so-called gods - for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. 1 Corinthians 8:5,6
One true God, we are on bended knee. We are not always deserving of your wellspring of all that is good. Empower us to better serve your kingdom here on earth and to be gracious stewards of all that you have entrusted to us. Amen.
While shepherds watched their flocks by night, All seated on the ground, The angel of the Lord came down, And glory shone around, And glory shone around.
“Fear not!” said he, for mighty dread Had seized their troubled mind. “Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind To you and all mankind.
“To you, in David’s town, this day Is born of David’s line A Savior, who is Christ the Lord, And this shall be the sign, And this shall be the sign.
“The heavenly Babe you there shall find To human view displayed, All meanly wrapped in swathing bands, And in a manger laid, And in a manger laid.”
Thus spake the seraph and forthwith Appeared a shining throng Of angels praising God on high, Who thus addressed their song, Who thus addressed their song:
“All glory be to God on high, And to the Earth be peace; Good will henceforth from Heaven to men Begin and never cease, Begin and never cease!”
The next Dutch song with a similar context is De Herdertjes lagen bij nachte
1.
De herdertjes lagen bij nachte
Zij lagen bij nacht in het veld
Zij hielden vol trouwe de wachte
Zij hadden hun schaapjes geteld
Daar hoorden zij 'd engelen zingen
Hun liederen vloeiend en klaar
De herders naar Bethlehem gingen
't liep tegen het nieuwe jaar
2.
Toen zij er te Bethlehem kwamen
Daar schoten drie stralen dooreen
Een straal van omhoog zij vernamen
Een straal op het kribje benee
Daar vlamd' er een straal uit hun ogen
En viel op het Kindeke teer
Zij stonden tot schreiens bewogen
En knielden bij Jesus neer
3.
Maria die bloosde van weelde
Van ootmoed en lieflijke vreugd
De goede Sint Jozef hij streelde
Het Kindje der mensen geneugt
De herders bevalen te weiden
Hun schaapkens aan d'engelenschaar
Wij kunnen van 't kribje niet scheiden
Wij wachten het nieuwe jaar (OF: En vonden het kindje daar)
4.
Ach kindje, ach kindje, dat heden
In 't nederig stalletje kwaamt
Ach, laat ons uw paden betreden
Want gij hebt de wereld beschaamd
Gij kwaamt om de wereld te winnen
De machtigste vijand te slaan
De kracht uwer liefde van binnen
Kan wereld noch hel weerstaan

Feel free to leave an message that you came over !
QUOTE from LYSA TERKEUST!!(from " A MESS") I'm convinced there's a reason the first four letters of Messiah spell mess. We need Him. Only the Messiah can take our mess and turn it into a untangled message of hope, forgiveness, and ultimately love.
