The “Us” Factor

This month, your challenge is to share how you and your husband make each and every day of your marriage special. What are your daily relationship rituals? How do you nurture the “us” factor? Tell us the big or little things that make your marriage sing like a fine-tuned violin. A few examples:

This is the question asked at CHRYSALIS by E-mom

I was not planning to make an post ,that is also the reason i am so late in joining ....
But while looking around what i missed in those days i was not online due to busyness...I came across this topic......

The question asked made me wonder..
"What is it THAT makes each and everyday of my marriage SPECIAL and what are the big and little things that makes my marriage sing like a fine-tuned violin"!!??
I must tell you i was laughing while  picturing my marriage as an instrument.....

Well the sound we played in those nearly 17 years was not sounding  always like an fine-tuned violin!! ( Or playing an quartet on the piano..)
Looking back i see us making sounds that scared us and probably our kids maybe also the loved once around us.......We even wanted to trow away the instrument......

But we both can thank God now on our bare knees for knitting US together and FINE-TUNING our instrument of marriage........
The sounds we are playing are tunes of
  1. ACCEPTANCE of eachother for who we are. Give the "wanting to CHANGE THE OTHER" to God in PRAYER.
  2. Showing INTEREST in eachother opinions and LISTENING while communicating. Not believing anymore that our way is the high way.
  3. Surging for "The LOVE LANGUAGE " of the other
Those where/are some things that helped us....

What i initially fell in love with about my husband is his character to be PASSIONATE and HONEST.
This stayed in our whole marriage. In the times we where not well tuned the devil tried to use those character traits for the worse but. We conquered Him to submit to eachother and to God in prayer and let our life be led by Him........

Is see his passion now in when he works hard daily and make long days because He cares about his family

I see his passion when he calls me frequently.

I see his passion when he serves me breakfast in bed to make waking up in the morning easier for me because i am really "a night owl"

I see his passion to care for us when he wants to cook in the weekend or even early mornings or midnight when he comes late home......I do not see it anymore that he is not liking my cooking but he wants to add his skills to mine......

Because of knowing i can rely on what he is saying because he always speaks out of his heart......
I started to learn to listen more attentively and take his advice or do something with his opinion because our husbands are the once who are the closest to us and know us without our 'masks" on.......

My husband loves me to spoil him WITH ATTENTION when he is around
Making time....planning time........not always putting our kids first!!

In communication making clear i hear and i understand him....giving compliments or speaking out appreciation, frequently for the simple things we take for granted!

I can say now full hearthedly " I LOVE MY HUSBAND and I KNOW ( and i know that i know....) HE LOVES ME"!!

You all know i love to put alot of verses on My Journey and love to add the verses E-mom put in her blogpost about verses about KISSING.....
It made me laugh because the child in us made us keep on kissing and longing for kissing an very important part to stay fine-tuned...

So to read those verses made me praise God for His wisdom found in His word!

1. The slobbery kiss…
But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept. (Gen 33:4)

2. The cheek peck…
“Greet one another with a holy kiss.” (Rom 16:16)

3. The passionate kiss…

"She took hold of him and kissed him and with a brazen face she said…" (Prov 7:13)
4.
The woodpecker…

5. The tender kiss…
"Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep aloud."

6. The grab 'em by the beard (but no biting) kiss…

(2 Sam 20:9)

7. The kiss of humility…
As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. (Luke 7:38)

"Greet one another with a kiss of love." (1 Pet 5:14)

Awesome post! Enjoyed the way you brought honor to your husband here. You're a well-loved woman.

LOL, thanks for re-posting those kissing verses. It's true: the child in us made us keep on kissing and longing for kissing an very important part to stay fine-tuned...

Thanks for joining us for Marriage Monday, Godsown.

Feel free to leave an message that you came over !

QUOTE from LYSA TERKEUST!! (from " A MESS")
I'm convinced there's a reason the first four letters of Messiah spell mess. We need Him. Only the Messiah can take our mess and turn it into a untangled message of hope, forgiveness, and ultimately love.
