Today's readings ~ Read a long with me......@ Sing~

Watchword for the Week -- Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same
Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord. 1
Corinthians 12:4,5

Monday, January 18

Psalm 12
Genesis 19:30-20:18; Matthew 7:13-23

Yet I planted you as a choice vine, from the purest stock. How then did
you turn degenerate and become a wild vine? Jeremiah 2:21

Are you so foolish? Did you experience so much for nothing? Galatians
3:3-4

Merciful One, we confess that we have rebelled against you in our
hearts, actions, and words, and divided your church. Melt our hearts to
become united and set ablaze with your Spirit, turning away from
foolishness. Amen.

Let's read together the verses of today out of the msg version:

Psalm 12

A David Psalm

1-2 Quick, God, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down,
All the friends I depended on gone.
   Everyone talks in lie language;
Lies slide off their oily lips.
   They doubletalk with forked tongues.

3-4 Slice their lips off their faces! Pull
The braggart tongues from their mouths!
I'm tired of hearing, "We can talk anyone into anything!
   Our lips manage the world."

5 Into the hovels of the poor,
Into the dark streets where the homeless groan, God speaks:
"I've had enough; I'm on my way
To heal the ache in the heart of the wretched."

6-8 God's words are pure words,
Pure silver words refined seven times
In the fires of his word-kiln,
Pure on earth as well as in heaven.
God, keep us safe from their lies,
From the wicked who stalk us with lies,
From the wicked who collect honors
   For their wonderful lies.

Genesis 19:30-20:18

30 Lot left Zoar and went into the mountains to live with his two daughters; he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He lived in a cave with his daughters.
31-32 One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is getting old and there's not a man left in the country by whom we can get pregnant. Let's get our father drunk with wine and lie with him. We'll get children through our father—it's our only chance to keep our family alive."
33-35 They got their father drunk with wine that very night. The older daughter went and lay with him. He was oblivious, knowing nothing of what she did. The next morning the older said to the younger, "Last night I slept with my father. Tonight, it's your turn. We'll get him drunk again and then you sleep with him. We'll both get a child through our father and keep our family alive." So that night they got their father drunk again and the younger went in and slept with him. Again he was oblivious, knowing nothing of what she did.
36-38 Both daughters became pregnant by their father, Lot. The older daughter had a son and named him Moab, the ancestor of the present-day Moabites. The younger daughter had a son and named him Ben-Ammi, the ancestor of the present-day Ammonites.

Genesis 20

1-2 Abraham traveled from there south to the Negev and settled down between Kadesh and Shur. While he was camping in Gerar, Abraham said of his wife Sarah, "She's my sister."
2-3 So Abimelech, king of Gerar, sent for Sarah and took her. But God came to Abimelech in a dream that night and told him, "You're as good as dead—that woman you took, she's a married woman."
4-5 Now Abimelech had not yet slept with her, hadn't so much as touched her. He said, "Master, would you kill an innocent man? Didn't he tell me, 'She's my sister'? And didn't she herself say, 'He's my brother'? I had no idea I was doing anything wrong when I did this."
6-7 God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know your intentions were pure, that's why I kept you from sinning against me; I was the one who kept you from going to bed with her. So now give the man's wife back to him. He's a prophet and will pray for you—pray for your life. If you don't give her back, know that it's certain death both for you and everyone in your family."
8-9 Abimelech was up first thing in the morning. He called all his house servants together and told them the whole story. They were shocked. Then Abimelech called in Abraham and said, "What have you done to us? What have I ever done to you that you would bring on me and my kingdom this huge offense? What you've done to me ought never to have been done."
10 Abimelech went on to Abraham, "Whatever were you thinking of when you did this thing?"
11-13 Abraham said, "I just assumed that there was no fear of God in this place and that they'd kill me to get my wife. Besides, the truth is that she is my half sister; she's my father's daughter but not my mother's. When God sent me out as a wanderer from my father's home, I told her, 'Do me a favor; wherever we go, tell people that I'm your brother.'"
14-15 Then Abimelech gave Sarah back to Abraham, and along with her sent sheep and cattle and servants, both male and female. He said, "My land is open to you; live wherever you wish."
16 And to Sarah he said, "I've given your brother a thousand pieces of silver—that clears you of even a shadow of suspicion before the eyes of the world. You're vindicated."
17-18 Then Abraham prayed to God and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his maidservants, and they started having babies again. For God had shut down every womb in Abimelech's household on account of Sarah, Abraham's wife.

 Matthew 7:13-23

Being and Doing
13-14"Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.
15-20"Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don't be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.
21-23"Knowing the correct password—saying 'Master, Master,' for instance— isn't going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obediencedoing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, 'Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.' And do you know what I am going to say? 'You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don't impress me one bit. You're out of here.'

"Jesus Jesus thank You Lord for Your word of Wisdom and guiding to KNOW what it is all that it is going about "!

1 Corinthians 12:1-11; John 2:1-11

Father!" Galatians 4:6

Gracious Father, we are thirsty for you. Pour your Spirit upon our
families today -- our church family and our loved ones. Allow your

Spiritual Sunday ~ See God in His Creation......~

My thoughts went to think about how does GOD SPEAK  to me......

Definately through music and creation.
In my blogpost for TSMSS yesterday the words of the song spoke to me about Gods FAITHFULLNESS but the video was also beautiful full of tropical beauty.....made me remember my birthcountry and the schoolholidays spend in the reservations established by "boys rangers" in the middle of the Amazone.......

I feel so blessed that i grow up close to nature in the tropics " Surinam" a pearl of a country in the Amazone forest!

The waterfalls...The tropic rains, the animals who live around you and not in zoo

To notice how a seed grows and become a beautiful flower or a vegetable or fruit to eat.....
As a child i realize that i am part of nature and God take care of me just like he take care of the animals. The power in how things grow and in the storms and tropical rains and how night turns in day. Is the same power what God brings in my live when i look up to Him for His diretions....

It is amazing......

It is so important to look at nature and see God and aknowledge Him for what He has done and is doing...We are part of His artwork!
Read what i found in the message translation

Romans 1:20 (The Message)

Ignoring God Leads to a Downward Spiral
18-23But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.

TSMSS ~ FAITHFULLNESS ~

Your FAITHFULLNESS by Brian Doerksen

I don't know what this day will bring
Will it be disappointing, filled with longed for things?
I don't know what tomorrow holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness

I don't know if these clouds mean rain
If they do, will they pour down blessing or pain?
I don't know what the future holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness

Certain as the rivers reach the sea
Certain as the sunrise in the east
I can rest in your faithfulness
Surer than a mother's tender love
Surer than the stars still shine above
I can rest in your faithfulness

I don't know how or when I'll die
Will it be a thief, or will I have a chance to say goodbye?
No, I don't know how much time is left
But in the end, I will know your faithfulness

When darkness overwhelms my soul
When thoughts and storms of doubt
Still I trust You are always faithful, always faithful

Certain as the rivers reach the sea
Certain as the sunrise in the east
I can rest in your faithfulness
Surer than a mother's tender love
Surer than the stars still shine above
I can rest in your faithfulness

I don't know what this day will bring
Will it be disappointing, filled with longed for things?
I don't know what tomorrow holds
Still I know I can trust Your faithfulness

Psalm 11 Genesis 19:1-29; Matthew 7:1-12

We will say no more, "Our God," to the work of our hands. Hosea 14:3

Gods made with hands are not gods. Acts 19:26

All which we create on our own is vanity, but everything you create is
good! We shall not continue to trust in our own creation, but rather
praise you in your good works to the ends of the earth. Amen.

Living Fearlessly – Part 1...Biggest step(s) @ Gods FAITHFULLNESS !

“Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
~ Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” ~ Romans 8:28 (ESV)

Aquote by Max Lucado you may want to ponder:
“When fear shapes our live, safety becomes our god. When safety becomes our god, we worship the risk-free life. Can the safety-lover do anything great?…For God? For others?” ~ Source: Fearless

At "Grace Alone" you can join bi-weekly in the conversation about how to life FEARLESSLY.........
I pondered on the questions Iris asks us this week....
Over the next week, I would like you to look back at your past. What was the biggest step you have taken? What was your greatest fear about taken this particular step? Failure, insecurity, rejection? I would love to hear about your past fear(s) and how you have overcome it. What brought you through?

My biggest steps ??

1 Leaving my parents and my birth country at age of 18
I do not remember to be FEARFULL initially......I was excited....i wanted to discover the World....I felt i would achieve at last Freedom!....LOL......I believe it had to do with my age....
BUT along the way.....Fear started creeping in...........
All the above Iris mentioned.........I encountered.......I wanted to prove myself that i can stand on my own.....build up an life etc......I felt insecure in making choices.......I felt rejected when especially my parents and family started questioning why i choose to stay in Holland...Why i choose to do another  study ...etc......
Well i am praising God that He was and stayed with me all the way....AND that i remembered the wise words from my "Grandmother..."Always take your bible and pray.......and know I always pray for you"!.....
I remember me taking this to heart and i surged to join at the church i was baptized in and start socializing....and being active in the youth group..........

2nd major step was was falling in love "head over heels" and deciding to join our lives in marriage!!

I remember not withstanding i was living in a very "pink bubble" I was fearfull to be married........
My fear was to give up my freedom in an way.......Like i have now to negotiate and choose etc........
I was fearfull if our differences in background...language would matter in our relationship...I feared rejection of my husband by friends and family....... I knew my choices didn't fit the picture people had of me.......

Well to make it short God knew that nudging me to get married...was to bring me closer to Him....To learn to look at things marriage...my husband children...marriage values not with my eyes but with His eyes........And not withstanding all those mixed feelings I felt safe and loved and seen as who i am...by my husband........I could be at my ugliest and my loveliest i KNOW i was loved!!
Now i know that is the best thing what can happen to you!

3th Major step was  beside my own parttime job ...beginning an beauty-business together with my husband............
All fear to start it melted away because we believed in the concept and we saw the opportunities as an gift of God to us.............
But to handle and manage and work together and staying foccused on the leading of God in the directions he wanted us to go...went in different twists and turns but.........God stayed FAITHFULL...I give Him and Him alone all the glory....
For where i am now in my relationship with Him...And where i am now with my husband and children.......
We still have the business.......I'm not working anymore in it..........
Our marriage went to different seasons but His love kept us together and we share His love with eachoter as an family........No matter we can fight and have times of feeling insecure....He is in the middle and is the head of our family and will always be.........

I wrote an testimony last year along some questions sister Laura -Lee asked. You can read it as some more inside to those 'big steps"

God is so FAITHFULL and i putted my TRUST in Him especially and more so when storms started to blow in my Life! I know there will be more big steps in my future, but i may know to take them Trust and Rest in Him.........

This song spoke to me this week and i find it fitting to bring Him Praise and Glory for all He did for me untill this day!

encouraged. Hebrews 6:18 (NIV)

God of the promise, may we cling tightly to the hope which can only be
found in you. Your promises endure from generation to generation and in
them we find meaning and joy. Thank you, eternal One. Amen.

When i stopped an hour ago to stay in this state of  an "blur"....
Those verses came to me and the thought that IT IS FEARLESS FRIDAY........
A day we gather together and put time aside to pray for eachother....
For what we have on our heart....

THANKFUL THURSDAY...................."What do YOU LOVE...What are you thankful for...?"

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey
Let us give thanks. It is Thankful Thursday.

Please join us at Sonya's @ Truth4theJourney  and at S.U.M. Lynn is hosting also  TT  this Month of January @ Next month we are meeting with Iris of Grace Alone and in March we will be back at Laurie's place, Women Taking A Stand.

This is what Lynn wrote and asks us

Do you think the power of the word "LOVE" has been lost? We use this tiny word to describe so many things. Pizza and puppies. Apple pie and Jesus.
We use many words, including love, to describe our Lord. He is awesome, amazing, great, kind....
However, there still is one word we use to describe God, which is ascribed to Him, alone.
HOLY
Our God is Holy, above all others.
I am thankful our God is holy, all-powerful, our protector and redeemer.
What are you thankful for today? Can't wait to read about what you love.

Yes being THANKFUL for God who He is...Holy Sovereign!
To know that MY LIFE is in His hands He knows me inside out, better than anyone else....
Before i speak He knows....I can't hide...I can't "fool " my LIVING GOD.....God above all other Gods,Father of Jesus Christ OUR LORD! My HEAVENLY FATHER....

Lord of Lords....Prince of Peace........MY Prince of PEACE......
I am THANKFULL today for THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES.........ALL HIS NAMES

He gave us His WORD to know Him and to learn about His name who He is ..want to be for us........
I am so THANKFUL for His Word today
I am THANKFUL for the verses He gave me in those 1st weeks of this brand New Year
For the year of 2010
John 14
The Road
1 "Don't let this throw you. You trust God, don't you? Trust me. (MSG)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God(NIV)

For the country and city i live in i heard Him speak and say:

Psalm 147:12 (The Message)

 12-18 Holland , worship God!
      Amsterdam, praise your God!
   He made your city secure,
he blessed your children among you.
He keeps the peace at your borders,
he puts the best bread on your tables.
   He launches his promises earthward—
how swift and sure they come!
He spreads snow like a white fleece,
      he scatters frost like ashes,
   He broadcasts hail like birdseed—
      who can survive his winter?
   Then he gives the command and it all melts;
he breathes on winter—suddenly it's spring!

Yesterday He spoke clearly in

Ecclesiastes 5 ( Message)

18-20 After looking at the way things are on this earth, here's what I've decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that's about it. That's the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what's given and delighting in the work. It's God's gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It's useless to brood over how long we might live.

When i think about it i am already blown away by the God i serve for this year.....No matter what Life what this world throw on us...He is there ........."One prayer away " from us!!

I LOVE GOD indeed but it is more.... bigger than that just as what Lynn whas saying.....God IS HOLY....and it makes you humble to think about it ....He looks at us with so much Love ....He sees us through His Son......He makes us Holy we need to lead an Holy Life give our Life to God!

What do i love.......?

Simple things of Life......laughing,chatting,blogging

Talking about food....pure chocolate with nuts..YUMM, Love meal soups especially in the cold winter.......peasoup,potato soup.........., Noodle soups

I love to live close to water and to have fun with and in water.........Give me the beach......

So what do you love and are thankful for today?

WFW ~ we should make the most of what God gives Ecclesiastes 5:19~

Being able to enjoy what God has given to you is definitely a gift from Him. Let’s not forget to give credit to Him on a daily basis.
Ecclesiastes 5: 19 wallpaper

Ecclesiastes 5:19 (New International Version)

19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God.

In context in The Message

Make the Most of What God Gives

18-20 After looking at the way things are on this earth, here's what I've decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that's about it. That's the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what's given and delighting in the work. It's God's gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It's useless to brood over how long we might live.

Came accross this picture on "Christian Mingler" and made me remember Old Years eve13 days ago.....

God gaves us this Year of 2010..." our life in 2010",both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it,accepting what's given and delighting in the work...It's God's gift!
I'm repeating the words of the Message version....I love it!

Blessings to all of you on this WFW

Monday, January 11

Psalm 8
Genesis 11:10-12:9; Matthew 5:17-26

The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours; the world and all that
is in it -- you have founded them. The north and the south -- you
created them. Psalm 89:11-12

In these last days God has spoken to us by the Son, whom he appointed
heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. Hebrews 1:2

Wondrous God, you spoke the world into existence and continue to speak

Prayer on the 10th in 2010 ~ Psalm 27 ~

Extravagant Grace

I'm stirred up for this year of 2010
To PRAY more and deligently and purposefully
And He gave me a word for this year.....
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God(NIV)

So i must be ready to TRUST and i want to ad to the list...
SEEK HIS WILL in EVERYTHING and ALWAYS!

Want to start this year in joining on the 10th of every month E-Lisa at "Extravagant Grace "to pray.....Today the vers and the rest of the psalm i got on my confirmation day 20 years ago....
PSALM 27

Thank You LORD that You are

my light and my salvation—and that there is no need to
        fear?
That YOU are  the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When evil men advance against me
       to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
       they will stumble and fall.

3 Though an army besiege me,
       my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.

4 One thing I ask of the LORD,
       this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

5 For in the day of trouble
       he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

6 Then my head will be exalted
       above the enemies who surround me;
       at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

 7 Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.

8 My heart says of you, "Seek his  face!"
Your face, LORD, I will seek.

9 Do not hide your face from me,
       do not turn your servant away in anger;
       you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
       O God my Savior.

10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
       the LORD will receive me.

 11 Teach me your way, O LORD;
lead me in a straight path
       because of my oppressors.

12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
       breathing out violence.

13 I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.

 14 Wait for the LORD;
       be strong and take heart
       and wait for the LORD.

AMEN AMEN!!

"Spiritual Sunday's ~SNOW......SNOW.........ICE..........ICE...........I'ts an WHITE WORLD overhere......"~

I'm thinking of making a song with those words......LOL....

In Amsterdam "skating lovers" can't wait that all the canals are frozen in the inner city to do an "canal skate tour" what isn't held in decades.......

The Dutch can't wait tfor the "elevencity tour" to happen again
I remember the tour in the 1986 ( my 1st winter in Holland) that i went all the way to Friesland to see what this is all about....
The celebration beside the ice in the eleven city's( villages) what made an lasting memory for me.....
Partying in the cold!!...LOL...
In this historical play list you get the idea about winters with historic impact

And an side note The eldest son of the Queen did the tour"incognito".... in 1986.When he revealed himself at the finish he earned a lot of respect from the Dutch citizens....

"Eleven city tour" 1985
1986

In remenising about this weather season and all the "up-heavel" about it in Holland...I wanted to find an word from the Lord for us and for everybody who has ears to hear!
I found this i substitute my country...(city) substitute yours....

Psalm 147:12 (The Message)

 12-18 Holland , worship God!
      Amsterdam, praise your God!
   He made your city secure,
he blessed your children among you.
He keeps the peace at your borders,
he puts the best bread on your tables.
   He launches his promises earthward—
how swift and sure they come!
He spreads snow like a white fleece,
      he scatters frost like ashes,
   He broadcasts hail like birdseed—
      who can survive his winter?
   Then he gives the command and it all melts;
he breathes on winter—suddenly it's spring!

Psalmen 147:12-18 (Het Boek)

12Nederland, beroem u op de HERE! Stad Amsterdam, prijs uw God!

The days of this NEW YEAR rolled in eachother...can you believe it is already the 9th day in this brand new year!!

Last year ended when i look at the weather in really cold conditions for Dutch standards...It started freezing snowing and more freezing and snowing untill today...The forcast for the weather in the whole of Europe is saying that this weekend will be the coldest of the last 10 years!

Well i am happy we have all necessary things at home so there is no need to go outside today......
On the news you see all the "snow fun" but also the disasters of this season on the roads ....railways and airports........

My YEAR TEXTS out of My Moravian Daily text book came to my mind...... " Do NOT let your heart be troubled....TRUST in GOD..!!

WHAT DOES IT SAYS TO ME??

My HEART must not be troubled.....SITUATIONS/ NOTHING ( on my ROAD on "MY JOURNEY"....through life)  must throw me....!!

Jesus is asking me and you today again......"Do you trust GOD"......??!!
For EVERYTHING.....big and small..........!!

THAN ....TRUST ME!!

We can trust Him to be :
OUR
constant  FRIEND,
  CONFIDANT,
 TEACHER,
  HEALER,
 SAVIOR,
To be THE LOVER of OUR SOUL........
BURDEN BEARER

Yes Lord I trust YOU to be my EVERYTHING! To go in this year with me through everyday and stay beside me in every challenge. No my heart will not be troubled or shaken....
Fill my heart up with your gifts of PEACE.....LOVE........HOPE and grant me GRACE and MERCY.This i pray in Your name Amen.

By the Middle Ages the drum, which was probably introduced to Europe from the Middle East by knights returning from the Crusades, had become a common instrument. Among its other uses was to combine it with the trumpet to get people's attention when making a big announcement such as the arrival of the king or the reading of an important proclamation. In this case the drum was used to announce EPIPHANY the visit of the three wise men to the infant Jesus!!

Feel free to leave an message that you came over !

QUOTE from LYSA TERKEUST!! (from " A MESS")
I'm convinced there's a reason the first four letters of Messiah spell mess. We need Him. Only the Messiah can take our mess and turn it into a untangled message of hope, forgiveness, and ultimately love.
